Separate the two programmes
OLG describes My PlayBreak as its voluntary self-exclusion tool for OLG gambling. BetGuard is a separate province-wide digital programme supplied by iGaming Ontario. OLG says BetGuard can exclude a person from all regulated digital gambling sites in Ontario, including OLG, for six months to five years; it does not cover land-based casinos.
Map where you gamble
List OLG.ca, other regulated Ontario websites, OLG casinos and charitable gaming centres separately. My PlayBreak has casino, charitable and online programmes with different scopes. The official terms say enrolment in one area does not always mean every other area is excluded in the same way.
Check the term before confirming
OLG's current terms list multiple fixed periods and state that the selected My PlayBreak period is irrevocable while it runs. The online programme also offers short breaks. BetGuard has its own terms and profile. If enrolled in both, the end of one period does not cancel the other.
Handle marketing and devices
OLG says registered players cannot access the relevant online play and will not receive promotional email during applicable breaks. Its terms warn that mobile-app notifications may continue unless device settings are changed or the app is removed. Deal with push notifications as a separate practical step.
Build support around enrolment

If an account remains accessible
Do not gamble to test the barrier. Record the programme, exact site, date, account state and what you observed, then contact the relevant programme. A report documents a concern; it does not by itself establish a breach or guarantee reimbursement.
