Ontario online casino complaint: build the record before escalating

Check whether the site is in scope

Use the official directory to identify the exact regulated Ontario site and operator. iGO says it cannot resolve or decide disputes involving unregulated operators, so do not assume a familiar brand is in scope without checking the current listing.

Start with a formal operator complaint

Describe the account, payment, bonus, game or technical issue accurately. Keep the player ID, transaction or game reference, terms in force, complete correspondence and the complaint number. A complaint is a request for review, not proof that a breach occurred.

Give the operator time and follow up

iGO's guidance says most disputes are resolved through the operator process. Check spam, preserve the original submission and make a follow-up attempt if no response arrives. Do not alter messages or submit a new version without recording the change.

When iGO may review

After the operator process, an unresolved or unsatisfactory response may be taken to iGO if it concerns gambling products conducted and managed by iGO. iGO says it cannot directly settle bets, refund wagers or award compensation.

Some concerns go to AGCO

iGO says responsible-gambling, suspected-illegal-activity and advertising matters may be submitted to AGCO through iAGCO without first contacting the operator. Follow the current form instructions and state only what was observed.

Keep privacy and outcome limits clear

Do not publish player IDs, bank details or screenshots publicly. Keep acknowledgements and written decisions. Only an official outcome can be called a regulator finding; a complaint itself remains an allegation.
